Nowadays, more than any other time, humanity is experiencing the consequences of financial globalisation, among which is the unemployment of the youth. The project „‟Youth & the City: Building our Future‟‟ attempts to encourage youth participation in the decisionmaking process on local level and to contribute to the establishment of a long- lasting communication and exchange of information between the youth and the local authorities. The central theme for establishing such a relationship will be the role of local authorities in promoting youth employment, since they are more flexible in comparison with the centralised authority in facilitating developmental strategies and they have a better knowledge of the local market‟s needs.
